Kęstutis Baltakys is a professor who studies calcium silicates and their derivatives. His work explores their properties and uses in innovative technologies. Educational Background and Career
Kęstutis Baltakys graduated from Kaunas University of Technology in 2002. He has worked there ever since. From 2006 to 2009, he led the Teaching Thermal Analysis Laboratory in the Department of Silicate Technology. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology from 2018 to 2023. In 2023, he became Vice Rector for Research at Kaunas University of Technology.
Teaching and Leadership Contributions
He also taught at the Kaunas University of Technology Gymnasium from 2017 to 2018. Since 2016, he has been an expert for the Research Council of Lithuania. Kęstutis has helped shape science policy in Lithuania. He has been the President of the Lithuanian Association of Chemical Industry Enterprises since 2020. He became a member of the Senate of Kaunas University of Technology in 2021. In 2006, he also interned at the Rennes Institute of Applied Sciences.
